Hey everyone. I am new to Cisco routers and my boss just gave me two 2501's to play with. Ihave my hub and 3 lab pc's...Win2k Adv, XP, and Linux.

my question is, I am not really wanting to study for the CCNA as of yet...I want to get the hands-on exp first.

Do any of you guys know of a website or a document that would give me sort of a "Step by Step" instruction to get these two routers talking to each other?

I have recovered the password for the routers... they are only attached to the serial port of the win2k adv pc.

any help would be appreciated greatly...thx

OK, I'm going to sound like a prick here, but that has never stopped me before.

I'm not really ready to start studying to be a heart surgeon yet. I want to get hands on experience first. Could someone give me a step by step to perform a triple bypass?

Connect the 2 routers back-to-back with a serial cable. Put an IP address on each of them in the same subnet and you'll be able to get from one to the other. Granted they'll be good for nothing, but they'll have the ability to talk to each other.

Routers can do about a million and a half cool things. It's going to take some study and dedication to learn even a couple of them.
