Well, after five months of revision I sat the CCNA today and passed.

Make sure you know how to subnet until you are sick of it!!

Know the OSI layer, routing protocols, how to configure and troubleshoot them as well as everything else people have mentioned in their posts.

On to CCNP now, thanks to everyone for their advice and help with this exam.

Thanks buddy, and to you anchor40. Not an easy exam to pass no matter how you revise or what hardware you have for hands on. Some questions are very "wordy" and some are very sly indeed.

On three of the questions I had no idea whatsoever, only two simulations that were straight forward if you know how to troubleshoot RIP networks. I only had five minutes left at the end so don’t waste valuable time.

You have to have a good grounding in basic Cisco networking, be prepared to work out most of the answers as nothing is straight forward.

CCNP ahoy, I need to be committed!

Sexy,

First of all, Congratulations in your achivement. Quick question about the test, was one of the simulators an scenario that contained three routers which were configured with IP addresses and you were supposed to find out what was the reason for not having connectivity between them? Good Luck man!

Thanks Spena77,

Yes, one of the simulations did have the three routers as you described. Did you have that as well?

Sexy,

Yes, I had the same simulator. What was your answer to it?. In my case there was an interface that was shutdown.

Well done. I admire your dedication for wanting to move onto CCNP right away. I spent several months studying 'Monty Python' and 'Only Fools and Horses' before I could stomach SN masking again.

By the way, what was your score?
