Author Wasted another $125 on this damn test....

But at least I passed this time with a 938. I didn't even plan on taking it again but I got this money from some settlement from my previous work in which I got money which I didn't even deserve. So I figured what the hell I might as well waste this money on the CCNA instead of porn. Since the first time I took the test I got like 10 points less then passing I figured with a little extra review I shouldn't have much problem passing the test. So I scheduled the test for a week later and I spent that week playing civ3 and battle field 1942 and skimmed through the material an hour before my test. Now I am gonna see if I can sell it on ebay to get my money back.

Good Job, Chris!!!

Does this mean you're cured from thinking about subnetting at night?

Nahhh, I will prolly continue to dream about subnetting and routers. As for whats next, ermmm prolly nothing for a bit because I have intention on joining the military(as soon I lose 10 lbs, hehehe but thats harder then I thought, no matter how much I work out I cant seem to lose it. So I been eating nothing but leafs for the past 2 weeks) Anyways, the whole reason why I didn't take the CCNA sooner was because of the fact it expires in three years and it wouldn't do me much good. Ehnn, and it appears as if my chances of getting into networking in the airforce isn't to good(acorrding to my recruiter) and he is pushing me to get into programming instead(offering me big enlistment bonuses, enough to pay off my college loans) So i dunno I doubt I will be taking any exams any time soon. Had to get my CCNA since I spent so much time on it before and because this idiot friend of mine some how managed to get it and I was sick of hearing him talk about how much "cooler" and "smarter" he is. The guy can hardly setup his home network I don't see he got his CCNA.

Hang in there.

1) walk two miles a day, instead of Civ3 and BF1942

2) Hang in there. The certification is valuable. When you get in, you can always put in for a transfer in a couple of years. Besides, if you get into programming, having a networking background is a TREMENDOUS advantage. Part of my job security is that I have to explain to the programmers how their application will impact the network (usually in a bad way). They're ALWAYS making apps that run like pigs over the network.

You set your sights on the CCNA goal, and you made it. Now shift focus, and nail this next goal! **Drill Sergeant voice **

I was in the Navy Reserve for 9.5yrs and got out as an E5. I worked in Combat Comm (missed GW I by 6 days to run a Comm van for a SpecOp team). I was in Norway for a training excercise in '93 and celebrated St. Patrick's day with the Air Force contingent up at the Norwegian air base. I've also been to Scotland twice, Italy, and Korea - all as a Reservist.

Can you do it? Absolutely! It's not just what you eat, but also the excercise you do along with it. I wish you the best as you get at it and focus on your next goal, so you, too, can enjoy the world, and make us proud.

You don't need to eat only leafs man, eggs, meat fruits and veggies, is fine just stay away from refined/starchy carbs like cake white bread etc. You need to be doing several sprinting bouts a week, as well as alot of body calisthentics(pushups, pullups etc.) you'll want to be real good at those if you wanna join the military Sitting at those machines in the gym is not a gonna help you much.
BTW congrats on the pass.

CDBA(Certified Drunken Bumb Associate)

This sounds a great cert to go for I see its highly regarded in the IT industry. Is there any study guides out there or shall I study my local pubs cocktail menu ....

Take it from someone who's been in and back out of the military - don't listen to your recruiter. If he's telling you that you can't get into networking but you can get into programming, he's got another reason for doing it. Tell your recruiter that if you don't get the job you want, you'll go to another one of the recruiters and get it.
I know the Army has a lot of people joining and getting trained in the networking area (ADP, as they call it). They will send you to school to learn and get a lot of hands on with Cisco equipment, Microsoft, etc.
Don't settle for a job you don't want. It will make you miserable. Good luck.

Ah, yes, the good 'ol bonus plans for filling particular jobs...

Just remember, every time a recruiter open their mouth, they're lying!
