Oh God lost the first time on 23rd . The question Townsend mentioned was there.Three routers connected to locate the problem in the configuration. It took up all my time and composure.

After that practically rushed through all the questions and screwed it up.

When the analysis came I scored well in Routing and Routed protocols but screwed up in LAN and Bridging topics. They were immediately after the stupid router problem Will try again in a couple of weeks.

Any one know this ? Bit format of standard mask for Class B are they

1)0XXXX
2)10XXX
3)110XX
4)1110X I did not understand it at all any one know the answer ?

Hi
Class b is 128 to 191 right
0xxxxxx= between ( 0 and 2^6+2^5+2^4+2+2^4+2^3+2^2+2+2^
0) =(0 and 127) which A Class

1xxxxxx= it will be between 128 and 191 which is class B.

11xxxxxx =is between 192 223 class c

111xxxxxxx is Class D

Knowing X CAN BE 1 OR 0

Good luck in ur CCNA if u need any help I ll be glade to help u

I used Savvy Engine for CCNA , IT IS VERY HARD THAN VUE EXAM , I M PRETTY SURE IF U WORK ON THAT ONE AND U STUDY IN SYBEX will be fine.

In the Sybex book it states that with a Class B address the first bit of the first octect must alway be 1 and the second bit of the first octet must always be 0. If you look at it in binary it will be 10xxxxxx, this would tell you that the range of addresses would be between 128 and 191. The way I always remember this is the highest you can go without useing the frozen bits is 63 (combined) add that to the 128 and you get 191. Just remember that Class A is 0, class B is 10, Class C is 11.

don't know if I explained it correctly, but it works for me and I hope it will for you.

Good Luck

Thank you guys.

Hi Tx my main problem was with the timing. I started losing my confidence when I was bogged down by the Routing Simulation problem. I used the Todd Lammle book. The difficulty level in that seems to be far lesser than in the real test. Because I did the tests in Todd Lammle pretty comfortably, may be I was a bit over confident. Any ways this has brought me back to earth and stare face to face with reality .

There is this cheatsheet.com site then the one you gave (Savvy). Was the Savvy simulator really help ful? How many questions on simulation did they have. Looks like I need a lot of hands on experience in simulation. I'm a Software guy and never had any experience with routers. Please advice. Thanks

Here's an excellent resource for hands-on simulator.

http://www.chinaitlab.com/www/experiment/lab.asp

They also have sims for all the CCNP, as well as some of the CCSP exams. Each exam simulator page has 10-15 labs to work, covering the topics of the exam.

Very comprehensive. Enjoy!

palanik2772,
It does make you unerved when one question takes so long. But next time you will have an idea what to expect and I'm sure you will pass it. Try those sims anchor40 was talking about they look very good.
Best of luck!
