| Well I passed with a 946/1000. I was sure I had failed. Question four was a simulation that took me 20 minutes to complete. The simulations were definitely the toughest part. Instead of asking me to configure routers, they were three router networks that had problems to locate and correct. I thought there was no way I would finish. I ended up answering the last of 60 questions with 3 seconds left on the clock.
The study materials I used were the Cisco book and the Sybex book. I want to thank Sexy Lexy for the advice of purchasing routers. I did this and spent many hours configuring them with different configurations and the working with them until all could ping all. Then erase start, reload, and start over with a different config. This was definitely the thing that got me through those killer sims.
Also thanks to all on this forum who have been so willing to give help and advice. It’s nice to see so many people with so much knowledge that are willing to share and help!

| Congratulations!!!
I'm scheduled to take the exam this Monday and hope I do as well! Your sim sounds a lot like the sample sims in the Self Test software package. There are 4 sims and each has something either broken or unconfigured on an interface or with RIP.

Next I think I'll take the XP test, and then I'm not sure whether to go on to MCSA or CCDA and CCDP.
Thanks again for the advice about the routers it was more helpful than I can tell you!
And also Mat P, thank you for helping me find the ios I needed for some of the labs.
