| I think this has been answered in your other thread, but here we go again:
Sybex is a good book for beginners.
Cisco Press has a more in depth explanation.
Buy a couple of routers if you can afford them.
If not buy a routersim.
This with at least three months revision should have you well on the way to the CCNA.
Hope this helps.

| Hi clarkv
I took CCNA exam last December , I find sims question were so easy but a friend of mine find it very hard .I believe my Sybex virtual lab exam made the difference. That friend he took classes in A community college, while I just bought Sybex Book and Virtual lab, also I bought Savvy Engine, I promise u if u take that SavvyEngine, and u get only 75% u ll make more than 90% in the real exam .
I belive I had a good combination of materials,Sybex book gave all the knowlwdge that I need to pass the exam , and it virtual lab it was so great for Sims, and Savvy engine it was the last step to make me ready to smach the exam , I belive I did with 949 ,95%.
I will do the same thing with CCNP

| Thanks for the info. I also have the Sybex study guide and believe it is probably THE best study book I've ever had. I couldn't believe it when I was able to subnet in my head - it's incredible! I don't even worry about the subnetting questions now. I also keep practicing them daily. I also have Self Test software exam prep and I think it's pretty good.
Another resource I recently discovered is www.ipexpert.com. You can register free for the CCNA level, then have access to a limited, but still very good, lab sim through www.gettlabs.com.
