real test vs sybex book review questions

| Hello,
I'm just wondering what the difficulty of the CCNA test is in comparison to the Review Questions at the end of each chapter in the Todd Lammle Sybex CCNA book. I know its hard to say exactly, since the test pool has alot of questions, but generally speaking, what do you think?

| IMHO, the Sybex review questions are just that: review. I suggest that you be able to nail all of the those questions, and then back that up with even more questions from other sources (web sites, books, etc).
I walked into the test feeling confident. I could answer most of the Sybex questions, no problem. I didn't pass the test. Nothing againts the questions, but they aren't enough.

Also, find out WHAT the test is like. I spent WAY too long on the sims, paniced at the fill in the blank, and ran out of time.

| i think the sybex review questions are not suitable for exam prepareing. you need to find other practice questions. | |

| Izuki, I disagree.
I used only the Sybex books to refresh me for my CCNP and CCDP exams - but I have a lot of real-world experience and really only needed a refresher.
Mikei6,
There's not a magic formula for these exams, but rather a lot of preparation and experience with the material, so you can decipher the real question being asked.
If you need to read three different books in order to really get the material, then that's what you should do. If one works, great! If one plus some additional review questions, awesome. Find what works for you (and your budget), and follow it! |
