Passed the Cisco 640-607 exam this date.

Study material included:

'CCNA Cisco Certified Network Associate' by Todd Lammle. ISBN 0782141676

'Cisco CCNA Exam #640-607 Certification Guide' by Wendell Odom. ISBN 1587200554

'CCNA Virtual Lab, Gold Edition' by Todd Lammle. ISBN 0782130186

I found the examination challenging and used information from both of the books.

No calculator available.

Congratulations, will you pursue the CCNP or move onto another area?

Btw Congratz
I am taking this soon, just have a few questions to ask..

1) For the simulation part, you have to type full command correct? eg, RouterA# configure terminal

2) Can you use ? command? I don't think so, but just wondering

3) For multiple choices, do they deduct points for the wrong answers?

Please let me know, thanks.

Reply:

1) I used the abbreviated commands - like config t instead of configure terminal. Everything appeared to work OK. Probably best to know the full command though.

2) Help is not available.

3) I do not know about deduction for wrong answers. I've heard that the simulations carry more weight than regular multiple choice.

Would sugest that you know the material backwards and forwards. Several questions much more difficult than samples in the books by Lammle or Odom.

Yes, I anticipate going for the CNNP in the near future; Secutity+ first.

Congratulations, Buckeye!

I have a question. I am in no way asking for any question detail here. As for the simulations, can you give me an idea of how extensive they were? Basically, what was broke (no IP address, no clock rate, administratively shutdown, network not in router rip, etc).

I just want to know if the simulations I'm using are comparable to what's in the exam.

Thanks!

All I can say is that the simulations are extensive.

The examples presented in the book by Lammle are basic - you are assumed to know that material.

Thanks, agtuttle. I already checked out the Exam Outline earlier, but hadn't seen the Scoring of Simulation Exam Questions yet.

They have a sample simulation you can check out online and actually demo. Pretty cool. It is nearly identical to the simulations I have in the Self Test Software CCNA practice tests:
