Well I am sure we don't this kind of honesty
often. I have failed the CCNA exam four damn times. I have done sem 1 & 2 netacad, sybex study guide, exam guide, training trough work, routersim, and two differnet practice test engines. I have hands on experience. What the hell am I doing wrong ?

i feel ya mate..but CCNA is mainly focused on Semester 3 and 4.
Even though it doesnt say ot in the specs, most of the questions that i faced were from Semester 4 and 3, Semester 1 and 2 is basic stuff that you have to know .

good luck.

larkspur,

You should e-mail the Nashville Cisco User's Group http://ncug.freewebsites.com. They are considering sponsoring free CCNA classes for its members, and since membership is free, that's a pretty good deal. They meet once a month and have classes and presentations on various Cisco related topics. Let me know if you need more info.

hey larkspur

take some time off, study CCNP books, for a month, then start Wendell Odom 640-607 again and i am sure u will pass.
you are really great, to hold off the temptation to spend some bucks and get some (actual questions!), keep it up.

I don't know about taking time off or how much. I want this cert prety bad. My schedule could be an issue. I am enrolled in college as well as trying to study this cert. It is very hard on all who try to accomplish these tasks to get and stay current with certs, technology , and life. I have come so close sometimes I feel like asking for a recount lol!! I will get the ccna it is just a matter of hitting the weak areas that much harder. Thanks for your support and edmonds_robert I will probably see you soon.

On the test break down ... have you noticed a pattern to the areas that you are weak on?

dude ccna was a bit rough for me. especially the wan questions. i don't have much hands on on wan so i had to really focus on that part. they do like throwing lots of routing protocol questions and subnetting like crazy. i failed the first time I took it and passed the second. I hear that 50 % of peeps fail the first time they take it so don't feel bad. Don't give up!

JetGDI,
yes I have noticed a pattern on the break down. I have studied these topics. There is alot of materail to cover and remember for this cert alot more than others. I am sure I will nail this thing. I think I am fighting the embrassment. I have never had such a hard with any cert like this one. I hope it is as valuable as it seems
