Cisco kit is expensive isn't it! Even second hand.....

My suggestion, for what it's worth, is to get the sybex CCNA virtual lab (it's about £90/$120). It simulates 4 routers and 2 switches.

Purists may argue that it is better to get the real thing, which may be right, but it has got me off to a really good start on getting to learn the commands.

Anyway, I am going to buy a new SOHO 97 soon... as soon as I can be sure what the difference is between that and the 837, apart from encryption speed. (have already looked on Cisco site and spoken to rep...not much help!)

thanks i checked optsys.net and they had some cool kits and good prices. Another question I have is if and when I finally pass the ccna and I start to pursue ccnp would it be in my best interest to have this equipment or will virtul lab get me through?
thanks all who responded.

Having real equipment is best but if a virtual lab good to tie you over until you can get a real lab. I would aviod the Sybex lab though get the router sim 3.2 from routersim.com its way better in my opinion it costs a bit more but its well worth it.

A Customer of mine ask me to sell these two for $800 total.
Are they worth it?
They are Catalyst 2900 Series XL.

Provided there are no bad ports It would considered a good deal.
