| just a few questions about the new exam.
when using the cli on the new test
if you misstype a command do you get a second chance before moving on to the next question or do you only get one shot at it?
I'm assuming you only get one shot to keep peeps from trying a bunch of different commands until they get it right.
also how in depth do the commands get?
do you login into a router and configure an access list for an interface then logout?
or is it something like "enter command to set password to cisco"?
will I be fine using my Sybex router sim to study for it?
Thanks in advance. | |

| I have been told if you can do everything on the Simulator then you should be good to go. | |

| That's right, I think using the sims is fine. But do go to Cisco's website to see what the actual test sim looks like and how it works. | |

| you will get TWO simulation questions on your exam guaranteed, like how to configure passwords or configure router rip, something like that, ive taken the test twice and i got 2 simulations each time in the sime period of time on the exam and everyone else gets two, the simulations are excellent althought i was fiddling in mine and it crashed on me, luckily i had completed it and could go ahead to the next question, the sim is exactly the same as if you were configuring a router and they give you specific instructions on what you have to do just read them all, as you have to scroll down the page to see them all and they can be confusing,
you dont have much time to answer the questions on this exam, 75mins for 45-55 questions! so that means you have to know your stuff and not waste valuable time on the sims etc..
hope this helps guys! the ccna is a difficult cert and alot harder then the microsoft exams, less time harder questions, and this is good for CCNA's and the achievmenbt of the indivuduals...

| I've also heard that you can't go back and review the questions. once you've answered them you can't go back. Is this true?
When your done taking the test do you know what questions you've missed or is like CompTia's tests where they tell you area you should study more?

Um. What site is the Cisco site? How do I get there? Do I click on the *Go!* button? I tried that but it so doesn't work. My comp. is broke. How can I fix it? Why is the picture so small? Can you fix it on freelivevideo and make it bigger? How do you do that exactly Mr. Jesus Christ Man??? Please tell me ...

| Sybex Gold sims are excellent as I used em to pass. Had 1min 30 sec at the end. Dont waist time. I had 3 sims and spend 20 min on one sim. Also know hex. | |

| I took the test on the 19th. I had 4, count em, 4 sims on my test. I was so burnt out at the end that I missed the last sim and the final two questions. I was also surprised at the questions; they were alot different then I had expected. I had read the Sybex book front to back, used the Boson practice tests and the router sims from Boson. I spent about 6 intensive weeks studying for this test and failed by 59 points. The IGRP sim was the one I missed. I forgot to put the AS number after the router IGRP. I knew it after I pressed next. Could have been why I blew the last two questions. BTW I'm a Network Engineer who works on Cisco and Nortel equipment daily so this should have been easy. Go Figure. The sims I had were router rip, IGRP, someone tampered with a router, and assigning an IP address and hostname. But the questions blew my mind. Some were so close to the correct answer you really had to pay attention or you would miss it. I passed Network+ and A+ and never missed a question. THE CCNA TEST WAS JUST PLAIN HARD. | |

| Geez man.. u guys are making it sound reall hard, it probably is.
well, im about to sit it next friday..I have done the Cisco Semester 1-4 .
Im still not 100% on ip-addressing, so thats something i gota work on.
From the earlier posts, the sim questions seem basic, i havent yet done the configuration for FrameRelay.
i know the basic ISDN configuration but cant do the indepth.
Has any one experienced any questions in such a depth?
Any advise!!
Cheers. | |

| The best set of simulations I ever saw pertaining to the CCNA exams (sometimes more suitable to CCNP also) is the Sybex Gold simulations that is shipped free along with the book.
Also good are the CNAP simulations if you got access to them they are excellant! |
