| hi all, i passed today. the score wasn't anything to brag about, but it was good enough! whew. my eyes hurt.
For studying, i made myself colorful charts that were layed out logically to me on everything that i had trouble remembering and posted them all over my wall in front of my desk so i could see them often. i made my own flashcards for router commands, encapsulations, port numbers, etc. and my poor husband went hoarse quizing me on them. i read, and reread my cisco academy books after completing 4 semesters in the academy.
it hasn't come easy to me like it does to some. i'm 44, and still wondering what i'm going to be when i grow up!
anyway, i'm tired and sooooooo glad to have this behind me (at least for 3 years).

| Congrats! Remember, a pass is a pass! My 3rd semester of the Academy starts Monday. I'll be taking the test when I'm finished. | |

Congrats on the pass. A pass is a pass, as it has been stated in this forum on numerous occasions.
Four semesters of Cisco Academy and all that reading and rereading is enough to make anyone's eyes hurt. I finished Academy in May, have been studying Exam Guide and just wondered if you found the Cisco Press book to be all that much help. There seem to be quite a number of mistakes in the Second Year Companion Guide that did not have errata listed at the time my academy was in session.
Also, do you think the exam followed the course curriculum very well? I have been trying to get psyched up to schedule my exam, and guess I am just looking for encouragement.

| The test was different from all the practice tests I have done. I don't know how anyone could cheat on this, but I'm not inclined to try to figure out how.
I think if you understand the concepts of networking and subnetting, and of course, IOS commands, protocols, and the OSI model, you will do fine.

| Oh, tell me about the mistakes you found in
the second year companion guide. I am so inept that I didn't find them!

| Congrats!!! maybe your score wasn't that great, but you'll still be better off than one of those braindump lamers that get a high score. | |

| ooohhhh. ccnp? not for a while. next is net+, then focus on a job search. THEN, if needed for the job, perhaps, the ccnp.
but all goals are subject to change, right???

| lol yeah my lady the job part is the most tough than any other cert, but if u do ur CCNP ur job prospects are more , there are tonnes of CCNA's but less CCNP's and even less CCIE's , wednesday im giving my CCNA and within 1 monthy im gonna clear the first exam of CCNP, MCSE is already on the way for me. lol but 2 years atleast i get a job cos i have to complete my degree yet.
Good luck and remember CCNP has more chances of getting u a job.
Love and faith
