Author Deleting computer account in AD

I have a machine that is off the network. I have deleted the computer account from the AD and there is no entry in DNS. When I add a new machine with the same hostname it's saying this computer name already exist in the domain. How do I totally remove the computer name from the AD so I can add it again on a different machine
