| I have a used Sybex Todd Lammle book 2nd edition for the 640-507. Do I need to purchase the 3rd edition for the 640-607? | |

| Hi Wancheta,
According to Cisco, the only change in the exam is the addition of simulation questions - the objectives remain the same.
Cisco has a great FAQ resource they call Instant Answers. It's well organized and searchable by just about any key word. If you follow the link below, answer number 9 should be CCNA 640-607 Exam Outline. This is where Cisco states that the objectives remain the same. (If you don't see it in question 9, you can simply search for it).
The second URL is an interview done by CertCities with Cisco's senior certification manager where he categorically states that the objectives haven't changed.
The whole point of my rambling here is that you don't need a new book. You do, however, need access to the actual hardware or a good simulation program in order to prepare for the 3-4 simulation questions you are guaranteed to encounter on this exam.
Good luck with your studies!
Kartemy

| Thanks Kartemy. I just got the Boson Router Simulator to do the exercises. But I'm saving up for a 2501 Router. | |

| I'm glad someone finally asked this question. I'm sitting here looking at the Todd Lammle book, wondering the same thing you were. Kudos!!!!!!!!!!
