Which is better. An interactive study guide on a cd-rom(material approved by cisco) or a book. Or should u prepare from both.

in my personal experience there's nothing like a book. I saw a demo of the Cisco Interactive Mentor for configuring RIP. It is a very good simulation, most like the exams of anything I have seen. But... IMHO there is just too much hand holding. Besides the books are way cheaper. For CCNA go to R1R2.com, first with book in hand and then without. Nothing beats a real router.

I'd recomend both, if you can afford to go that way. If not, definately the book first.

I have the books & the NetG's for Cisco.

The NetG's are great if there is something that is unclear to you. As in you're not waisting a bunch of un-needed time figuring out something

I agree with tohrt.
It's better to use both. I tried using this style with my network + and it actually helps.
