I did my CCNA a while back and I was on a customers site when a guy said that the CCNA exam was now two exams. I didn't believe this to be right, this guy is talking out of his arse isn't he!!!!

It is your choice to do one exam like it has always been or to do two more defined exams. 801 is the single exam option 607 was retired the first of November.

Sorry Spides but the customer is correct (see link). You have 2 options for the tests.

CCNA 640-801

or

CCNA Intro 641-821 Plus ICND 640-811

In general, we are taking the 640-801 instead of 641-821 + 640-811. There are 2 reasons:

1. The preparation is same. CISCO recommanded to take the training course of INTRO & ICND2.1. These courses are aim to acheive the basic router and networking knowledge. When you complete it, you may taking the 801 or 821 + 811.

2. Do you want to pay more money?

Nope. They cost the same $150. One is $100 and the other is $50 .

What i am wondering is if you take the two exams to get it and then comes upgrade time can you just take the one exam, It seems logical.
