| I've already done some of the Cisco exams, and the security+ exam (which can count towards MCSA/E).
I was wondering for those of you that have done both Microsoft and Cisco (or even some of the comptia), how do they compare in terms of difficulty?
Just out of interest.....
Thanks! | |

| Hrm, from what I've heard the cisco exams are like 10x harder than microsoft which are about 10x harder than comptia (sec+ maybe being an exception). MS exams should be (relatively) easy for you at this point. I've also heard that the 70-216 test is very simple after taking the ccna test.
Having taken comptia and MS tests and now studying for ccna, just the ccna material alone is much harder.
Hope that helped a little.
Curious though, why not np/dp stuff?
Now that I've started studying cisco, its gona be really hard to go back and get my mcse cauz MS so damn boring in comparison.

| I need some server experience plus I have been playing with windows for a long time and think that mcsa/e would be easier than CCNP or CCDP.
Don't mean to cause offence to anyone incidentally....open to any other views & here to learn!

| Ive heard the opposite.
I have already take 4 MS exams now. From what Ive heard is that microsoft exams are kinda tricky and you have to look out for the microsoft answer, which sometimes differs from the real world answer, and I have to say that I agree. Of MS exams, 216 and 296 are the toughest, and ccna will help you a bit for 216 but you will not pass 216 easy with pass of ccna.
Cisco exams are all pretty much straight-foward from what I have heard from friends and from other forums. |
