| Not sure if this is in the right forum. I can see other computers on my network but I can't use any webbrowser to get on the net nor can I ping such places as www.yahoo.com or the ip equivalent. I know there's a registry fix by removing the nic and deleting certain keys in the reg but I was wondering if there's another way. and if not, what keys do I delete? | |

| hmmm sounds like this could be an issue with your default gateway or proxy setup. How do you get out to the Internet normally, can the machine/server that has the internet connection still get out to the Internet? | |

| well, I found out the problem. I was doing it correctly the whole time. I could not ping either ip add's or host names. BUT i could see my other LAN's computers and ping them.
The DNS fix doesn't work on Win98 First Edition. Only on SE and ME! If anyone ever experiences this, I can show you the keys to delete and what to do afterwards.
Everything is back to normal and I feel like a king now that I conquered Windows again! | |
