Guys I need desprate help bcoz I am really confused regarding IPX in CCNA 640-607. I have read in some forums on net saying that it's still there in course. So pls clarify my questions -

1. Is IPX Access list and IPX still in 640-607(it's not there in new CCNA objecives) ??
2. What is the marking scheme in the exam ? Did all questions carry equal marks ?
3. How many wrong questions can I afford ? Some says that only 3 questions if I answered wrong the very first question otherwise max. 7 questions .

I don't know about the IPX questions, but Cisco doesn't state that they have removed IPX from the exam. It doesn't seem to be a hot topic of conversation. According to Cisco, all exam questions aren't created equal. The simulation questions count for more on your total score than other questions. This is from the Cisco website.

Exam simulation questions carry greater weight than typical multiple-choice or fill-in-the-blank test questions in calculating a candidates' final exam score. At the end of the exam the overall score will be calculated and the candidate will be provided with a score report pinpointing areas of strength and weakness.

Exam scores are based on a point scaling system that is widely used in the industry. Your score can fall within a point scale of 300 to 1000 points. You are automatically awarded 300 points for beginning the test and can score up to 1000 points if you answer every question correctly on the exam. Please note that the specific number of points awarded to a given question varies on each exam.

Based on what Cisco has to say, it makes it hard to figure out how many questions you can afford to miss. One thing to keep in mind is that Cisco changed their exam structure some time ago so that you can't skip or mark questions to revisit them later. I don't remember anything IPX on the CCNA but I have a horrible memory so that doesn't mean much. However, it wouldn't hurt to learn about IPX in context with the CCNA. I know most the books I had covered IPX so I ended up learning it anyways. I should probably add that to my little rehash study I am doing to make sure I retain all the information I learned.
