| IT'S HARD AS HELL
I thought I was prepared but forget it man, unless you have hands on experience and eat, sleep, and breathe ccna then you'll pass. They are very tricky too. They dont just ask you to find hosts with a certain ip#, they give you a subnet and ask how many subnets and hosts can you get out of it...for me that was confusing, I messed up. Had 2 sims, and 3 OSI Q's, the rest were access-list, frame-relay and various VPN q's. Now I am stuck with the new version of the exam....I wonder if there's any way of still taking the old one again. I guess it's time to persue my msce and skip this one for now.
good luck....and I mean it!

| You can still sign up for the 607 today (9/30) and take it within 45 days if space is available at your local test center. | |
|
| dont I have to wait 3 days before registering again? if not i'll do it tomorrow (9/30/03) | |

| Nope that is a myth, you don't have to wait. | |

| Skip the MCSE, jump on the linux bandwagon get the RHCE with your CCNA
Or
A CCNA and an IP Telephony support specialization.
you will find a job and alot less people competing with you.
As always experience ... blah blah ....

| CCNA can include VPN questions. Probably won't have to configure VPN but may need to answer questions on concepts especially protocols. VPN covered in my CCNA study guides including Todd Lemle (sp?) Sybex 3rd edition. | |

| I didn't see any VPN questions, but have simple question about tunneling.
Don't give up! Learn again and you'll success. Note: You didn't have hands-on experience, only clear understaning of the topics (subnetting is must, how did you take the exam without master it...?)

| I failed the CCNA on friday the 3rd, 607 exam, I scored 847 needed 849 to pass!! Damnit, now I gotta take the 801 exam, is there no way to re-registered for 607 at all? This stinks :P
Anyone know the differences, or difficulty comparission between 607 and 801?
| nethead 2003-10-06, 3:08 am |
| yep, you can only register for 801 now. Registration closed on 30/9 for 607.
There are some differences between the two, I'm not overly familiar myself but I believe one change is there is now some basic ospf stuff.
Anyone taken 801 who can help out here ?

| I've writen the 801 and from what I've seen on this forum, it is a fair bit different from the 607.
Have a look on Cisco's site for a breakdown of what is tested.
There is also a good article at certcities.c0m/editorial/exams/story.asp?EditorialsID=77
You can also see my posting at http://examnotes.net/article1022351.html
Hope this is of some help!
Cheers,
