Hello people its been quite some time since I have posted in this site but I am not too informed about recertification on my certificates. All I am saying if I need to take CCNA CCDA CCDP CCNP again to recertify. Any information would be appreciated since my certification will expire until February 2004. Let me know if anyone has any info thanks alot... BTW, I have gone through Cisco site but still confused. Thanks

well.. from my reading, you need to take 2 exam, the recertification exams for dp and np

http://www.cisco.com/application/pd...a00800a32c8.pdf

4. If I have a Professional certification, do I need to renew my Associate certification?
No. Your Associate certification stays current as along as you keep your Professional certification current.

13. Do people need to renew every certification they hold?
No. Some recertification occurs automatically. For example, when someone recertifies a CCNP, the
related CCNA is automatically renewed. That’s because recertification at the Professional level automatically
renews all related Associate level certifications. Associate level certifications are also recertified
when a 642 prefix exam is passed.

CCNP and CCDP have separate recertification exams tailored to each. Questions are drawn from the multiple exams currently in use for each certification

now... the interesting thing is...
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/learning...paths_home.html
np/dp recertification exams are...

CCDP Recertification
Required Exam(s)
642-891 Composite

CCNP Recertification
Required Exam(s)
642-891 Composite

so... heh... I would call them, use the online help to pose a question and ask them specifically of these inconsistency or just take that test and see if both *p's status are updated in tracking...

Still have some time b4 I have to think about it, but let us know if you find any thing specific and concrete?

Taking just the 642-891 Composite exam should recertify your CCNA, CCDA, CCNP and CCDP certs.

If I hold a CCNA 1.0 (640-407).

hmmm, i think Cisco may have just changed it so that the composite exam (642-891) is the recertification exam for both tracks.

The exams have just changed and I think as part of it the recertification exams changed.

If they changed it they forgot to update their web page:

CCNP and CCDP have separate recertification exams tailored to each. Questions are drawn from the multiple exams currently in use for each certification.
