| Now, now little boy. Are you sure you want to be distributing illigal copies of copyrighted work on this forum, and if that isn't enough, you are asking money for it...
Might want to rethink this

| I am just curious why "Test King" is considered cheating.
I looked them up and apparently it is a legitimate company. I found no evidence any ware else of pending legal action against them from Cisco or Microsoft that I could see.
Please would someone explain to me why collectively everyone here considers "Test King" to be such a stigma. I have heard only good things from other sources about their reliability and how they have helped people prepare for the exams.
Not defending anyone or any company but wish to know. I use another method of study other than them. I certainly do agree that it is illegal to resell the material according to the legal disclaimers on the “Test King” site. It is just that I have never seen such a collective backlash against a test prep company before.

| What you get is a collection of most, if not all of the questions that are found in the exam.
So, in essence you are purchasing the answers in advance.
As quoted on the site:
"I pass the test and I'm now an MCSA. Thanks, ALL of your questions were on my test. All I had to do was look at the answers and I knew the correct one.
Thanks Mark"
It is a case of memorising the answers to achieve certification.
These people do not possess the necessary skills, experience or knowledge to hold the certification.
The CCNA is the associate level that indicates that the individual holds the necessary skills to configure a router and in turn has the technical knowledge for the related subjects (TCP/IP, sub-netting, the OSI layer, Cisco commands, cabling etc.)
They may indeed prepare you for the exam but it is a hollow victory as that is all they will prepare you for.

| testking is braindump..... | |

| I was trying to be diplomatic babu75 but that sums it up!
Mitchflorida has been banging on about how Sybex press is for hackers (Tom Lammle of all people who is held in such high regard and after reading the first few chapters I can see why.)
Then taking every opportunity to belittle those who are honest with revision and exams.
Well mitch you are indeed a self confessed cheater and braindumper, your certs are as valuable as a 22 dollar bill. I can see why you disregard reading Sybex and hard revision because you never did either.

| It is simply cheating, Bad enough, it makes those of us who are studying lose credibility | |
| MaulerJ 2003-01-17, 12:13 am |
| Thats why I suggest we get together, and petition to CISCO to make the test all simulator or at least make 10 questions sims, there would be no way those cheat sites could write the steps down, and memorizable (lol spelling) | |

| I am not trying to be argumentative or defend Test King but as a free thinker I wonder why Cisco/MS has not tried to stop them if it is indeed considered cheating. Also I wonder why people in the IT field who know their stuff and can perform various tasks verses others who simply learn enough to pass the exam are concerned. It is not as though an unskilled person could usurp you. As I see it, many who claim to use braindumps cannot even write coherent sentences on this message board.
It is just my opinion and I clearly see all your points. I guess what I am saying is that I am not concerned about Test King or any other braindump. Personally, I would think that anyone taking certification exams would need to have a solid understanding of the concepts involved no matter what.
I do not see that many of the “braindump people” have a bright future in technology.
| babu75 2003-01-17, 9:05 am |
| you are right and i guess the industry will "weed" them out in the long run. i believe that these braindump sites keep croping under new names that it would be hard for Microsoft/Cisco to keep track of them.
of course, you can always take the initiative of notifying them (e-mail) on the new braindump sites.
for instance, this dude on the CCNP forum said he had BSCI-TestKing and was asking if he will pass the exam should he memorize all the questions. please, not at the CCNP level.
now, with this kind of attitude towards these certs, i wonder what the future holds?

| I try to think of it this way.
If I wanted to get into the plumbing business I could do one of three things:
1. Work under a plumber until I learned the business, then study for and take the necessary licensing exams.
2. Study plumbing at a trade school, do hands on exercises in the plumbing practice shop and then study for and take the licensing exam.
3. Read a book, study “to the licensing exam” and then take it.
Now which is the better plumber. Probably A but B is still much better than C. I doubt that C would be able to convince an employer that he could do the job.
I see no difference in IT (or for that matter automotive repair, air conditioning, gunsmith, pest control or any other trade).
I do see the frustration though and am sympathetic to it. If I read the books, do the labs and study for weeks then see some Bozo who cannot even write a coherent sentence say that he prepared for and passed in a week- I can see how that would tick someone off.
