Thanks all for your help on nailing down the subnetting. I will test tomorrow morning 08:30. I feel good about it. Tonight I will be going to a lab, and be working on some design, and hands on exercises, this will get me refreshed on the sims. Figure I will get to the test center at 07:45 or so, and do some review. Any last minute advice?

3 things:

1. I am not the mod for this board. I am the mod for the Net+ board.
2. I am dyslexic, and I read another number. So sue me.
3. Sorry Mauler, I thought you had a pass on that one. Keep your head up, and sit the test again. You are very close to passing. Email me and I will send you my study guide for free to help motivate you.

Ohh so close but I'm sure you will get it next week when you go back. I know how it feels I scored a 830 when I took mine its a major bummer to get so close but not close enough. I will take mine again after I'm done moving.

Awesome news! We all knew you could do it. You were so close the first time. Frankly, I think that you should have passed it right that first time, but hey, I don't work for Cisco

And this days, a well-earnt pass is not necessarily as common as one would hope

This is very true freak, but for those of us who put in the hard work and effort find the reward that much more gratifying.

Yep, I had an 830 on Friday, and knew what I was lacking on, so I worked in the lab(my lab), and studied those areas as well.

you can't beat that combination of hands-on, theory reading, and determination. Congrats again!
wtf

MaulerJ,
First, I would like to extend my congrats on your CCNA accomplishment. I recently decided to journey into the Cisco realm and acquired the Wendell Odom book and an old copy of the Lammle book (507) from a friend. I know this is not nearly enough, and I will need some sort of router sim in the near future since I do not have access to a "real" router. I have a little (okay, tiny) network here at home, nothing elaborate, a server, 2 desktops and a notebook. I was wondering what approach you took towards the exam. By this I mean, did you receive most of your resources from techskills.com or through self study?

Thanks.....wtf
freak

your small network is not that small for a home network. I congratulate you on understanding how important it is to have your own lab environment to be able to get some much needed hands-on.

www.r1r2.com used to allow you to telnet into a live router for free. I am not sure they still do, but check it out. Also check out ebay and see if you can get an old router for cheap, it's always better than a sim.

Let us know when we can help!
