Passed CCNA- Yes!!!
|

| Well, after 6 months study via the Cisco Academy, I sat my CCNA yesterday and passed with a score of 962. It was quite a fair exam....no trick questions. I was surprised I only got 50 questions with 2 sims. To be quite frank, if one couldn't do the sims that I was set, you have no right to a CCNA. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this forum...you have all contributed to me being successful. Now, how to escape my job as a teacher....could be more difficult!!??##$! | |

| Congratulations on your pass, six months of hard work have been rewarded.
Are you sticking to the MCSA or will you attempt the CCNP?

| Yeah, I thought about doing the CCNP course but it is quite expensive in Australia.....and working full time would make it a difficult proposition. I am therefore going to try and knock over some Microsoft exams and see if I can get a MCSA Certificate. If I was younger, I would have been inclined to go with the CCNP option. I didn't use anything like Exam so easy, etc. I concentrated on learning the concepts and using router simulators.....constructing networks on sims were great preparation for the exam.....I found the sim questions mega easy. I used material through the Cisco academy as well as the Osbourne (Syngress)study guide. Cheers cmh | |

| It's great to hear that you didn't use brain dumps and cheat with rip off exam so easy questions and other products, you have my respect.
I don't know what the market is like in Australia, but I would think that the CCNP would give you better opportunities than the MCSA but it all depends on what area of IT interests you.
Keep up the good work!

| Well, I don;t know in Australia, but here in South Africa the Cisco-based courses and exams are very over-priced, compared to the US ones, if you base it on the exchange rate of the $ vs. ZAR, but I know the market is very open to Cisco professionals more than to MS professional, merely because the market has a load of Paper-MCSEs, so I would also recon that following the Cisco route might be better in the long run.
Well, congrats again, and good luck with whatever you decide to do. | |
