Author Help commands on Exam simulator

Just wondering, does the simulator in the 640-607 allow the use of Help commands? And do you think that we are penalized for using them, as opposed to being able to enter the commands directly without having to refer to Help?

You are unable to use the help features. It matters little as the sim questions are simple ones anyways from what I have heard.

Also note that you have to enter the complete command. ie sh ip int e0 will not cut the mustard. Instead you would have to type show ip interface ethernet0.

Hope this helps.

You never answered my previous question either - about work in Singapore. I guess you are going to be like Slim Shady in the song "Stan". Don't worry though, I am not going to throw my girlfriend in the trunk of a car and drive off a bridge.

You won't need the help command if you study basic CLI commands. I passed last week and the labs are pretty simple, if you can configure interfaces, enable routing protocols and set passwords you'll be set. As Johnno says use complete lines, i.e it won't accept int e 0 etc, just type the complete line. Piece of cake!!

The sim questions are basic requests, but when you are nervous weird things can happen. I entered the host number instead of the network number when enabling rip, discovered what I'd done after I had gone to new line, entered "no network...." and then entered the correct network number. I scored low, and am wondering if that pecadillo is what did it....
Anyway, try to calm yourself while going through it. It's probably something you can do in your sleep, but nerves definately come into play.

Loopbacklady I guess that would of been a fail. I know what you mean about nerves, I had a Router Rip configuration and I nearly put the same network twice!!!

Hey, thanks for the help Johnno.

And about the work in Singapore, my apologies but I can't really answer that one because I've been working out of Singapore for more than a year now, so I can't really give you good advice on the job situation for network professionals there.

But I heard the job outlook is bleak, generally.

Thanks for the help, guys!

Your replies have been really helpful. I was thinking about this when I was studying the ISDN dialup portion, and there are so MANY commands to remember...my head was swimming around. So I thought I'd probably be dead if I got an ISDN dialup config problem in the SIM...
