I thought I would check out other forums maybe help out on somme test. You know give back. I think that was a bad idea. I went to the Network + forum and there was someone you supposedly had a CCNA, MCSE and some others but could not pass the Network
+ test. To me that's a disgrace. I mean common the network + test is geared for entry level. I mean it's as basic as you can get and called it an exam. Don't get me wrong it's a good exam to start off with but how cacn you NOT pass that cert with a CCNA let alone an MCSE? It really gets me fired up. Sorry about the rant but WTF!!!

It's chill time donald.

A quick scout around the other forum areas of this site will reveal far too many people sounding off. I like my cool now; I used to rant about things I couldn't possibly change, and I used to argue the toss with others over what amounted to trivia. It did me no good, so now if I don't like something, I ignore it. Now I like to watch the flaming that goes on, read it all, have a chuckle at all the pettiness and then go back to my cool.

Chill time again.

See there you go, I read your post "degrading" to the person on the Network+ forum about what he should know and about being fired. If these Certifications are all that they are supposed to be, and you are a true CCNA. You should give advice "good and experienced" to help a person who hell, might have any questions. This should have been handled in a better manner.

I am sure some folks could give a damn about opinions but as a person who has worked in Telecommunications for many years, who makes good money, I am second guessing moving to the data/networking side of the house.... why

Alot of you IT folks are rude, degrading, and just pretty shi77y in general.

Seriously, As a person with exeprience, you know some folks ccan read a book and pass a test, and still not understand concepts...

Another thing to remember is that the Microsoft and Cisco exams are geared toward only their products. Microsoft doesn't care how well you know Linux, and Cisco couldn't care less if you are a Nortel guru. The Comptia exams, while having a strong emphasis on the Microsoft side of the house because of market dominance, also ask questions about Novell and Unix, for example. So, as one who has taught the Network + class, I can tell you it is very realistic for someone with their MCSE and CCNA to fail the Network + exam, and still know how to do their job.

I agree. Just because you pass a test doesn't mean you know your a** from a hole in the ground! I work with several extremely intelligent people that know networking inside and out, but when it comes to tests...they freeze. Some are good test takers and some are not! MaulerJ you are right about "IT attitudes". I've only been in the IT industry for 4 years and have seen some of the worst ego's and attitudes than any other line of work I've been in.

I will get off my soapbox now

Horses for courses.

I don't know the first thing about UNIX, but I know a man (or woman) who does. So problem solved.

We work in the communications industry, yet we seem to reluctant to communicate at a human level. E-mails have replaced 'phone calls and letters, and we don't seem to bother with face-to-face communication any more. You get the picture.

Don't let it grind you down. Get on with what you do best and leave the other stuff to other pepole.

I agree MaulerJ I should have handled in a better manner or kept my mouth shut. I see people studying their butt off and I may take my work to seriously, it just bugs me about all the braindumps. the exams I think are given to much clout and we are part of the ones who do it. But I still stand firm that if you are an MCSE or CCNA and you actually studied for the exams and test the Network + should be easy. But you're right I was a total a$$hole.I'll keep my venting to www.techcomedy.com. We should be united in our distaste for Management, PR and (l)users

I don't know what I am talking about at this point anymore, I am sleepy... I like to say that this place has some really good people, bitter people, sad people and newbies... Yes, I snipe at people who does not know the basic answer and call themself certified... but I realized a few times that there are just so much information, you cannot remember everything in your head... The truth is that when I study for Cisco, I tends to kick all my MS thing out, so I have room for Cisco... Anyway, just want to say that my ego are pretty small...

well to listen to everyone having a say , well its ok if someone doesnt succeed in the first attempt, i know ppl who had 90% in class but never made it to the masters degree and the 60% guy went on to become a professor, NET+ or CCNA its abt common sense and awareness and NET+ is more diffcult than CCNA. I have taken practice of both and NET+ is more demanding than CCNA

Rest over to you EXPERTS
Keep the faith
