| two weeks? That seems a little light. But this is what I tell everyone. Go get the objectives, read them, if you cant answer everyone, you are not ready. If you can, then you have a decent chance.
Also really answer them, dont just say, oh, I know that one. Anyone can say they know subnetting, but unless they can work it out, they cant.

I don`t know how many people have told me "oh I know subnetting really well" only to freeze up when asked to solve a simple subnetting question.

| My 2 Cents...
If you want your cert to be worth anything, you have to breathe the topic. If you are unsure if you are ready to sit the exam... then you are not ready. If you can subnet in your head (makes a good party trick by the way...), and are confident in the areas of cisco routing that the CCNA requires, then by all means write the exam.
In case you were wondering.. yes I do work with Cisco routers, mainly at the access level. I will write this exam when my workplace pays for it.
Anyway, good skills when you are ready. Network engineering is living the dream!

| Do you know what GROCK means? It means to know something so well you can't explain it to someone. (For example, if someone were to ask you "What's 1+1?" you would of course reply "2". But if they then asked you "Why?", you might have a little trouble answering that one )
You need to Grock the test. As a general rule, I don't sit for an exam unless I know for a fact I will pass. Unless you have $125 (or whatever the test costs today) to flush down the toilet, it's just not worth being unsure, 1/2 sure, pretty sure or 99% sure. Be SURE. And raise your hand. |
