You are configuring a new catalyst switch that you want to manage remotely from workstations on other network segment within your enterprise. Which of the following are required to allow remote management of the switch over IP? (Choose two)

A-the frame relay encapsulation on the physical interface.
B-The local DLCI on each sub interface
C-An IP address on the physical Interface
D-The sub interface type as point-to-point

thank you all

I am sorry, but what do these two topics have in common. I guess I am just misunderstanding, but I have worked with a switch over a network, via telnet and web based, and I guess I dont understand the signifcence(sp) of the frame relay in there.

hmmmm ?????
you need an ip address on the sco interface to manage a catalyst and packets get routed to it ?
ideally only your mangagment network or vlan should access it.

as the other person said
what the heck does this have to do with
wan and framerelay
layer 1 and 2 technologies ?

for security reasons i would not
ever
ever
ever

want a piece of networking equipment to be reachable via a serial link.

i'd use ipsec, vpn,or ssh and have a trusted host that only can access the switch.

as david said, telnet is defintely ok for managing ur switch just like a router

So what do you think the correct answeres

There isent one, unless you explain what it has to do with frame relay. 3 of the answers all have to do with frame relay more or less. C, the ip address one, is really the only one.

only c is relevant
