Dude yoou've got hardware issues. crack that baby open if you don't have a warranty otherwise send it in. If you crack it open check yoour flash make sure everything seated corectly you might try and switch slots cause it should boot up correctly if at leasat bank 0 is working right. If that doesn't work call you cisco rep if you have one and get some replacement parts. You should know what you need if not he will and your cisco doc. that came with the router will tell you!

good luck!

ah crap! was afraid of that The thing is I can get into the router and mess with settings, save configs etc...
Only thing I havent gotten around to is seeing is if it will route anything. Other than the error above it seems to be working ok. Thanks for the reply!

someone on another forum said that the problem is associated with the router having non Intel Flash with older boot rom. But other than that he said it should work fine. Seem right?

-Chris

update: Found this on a FAQ site...appears that nothing is wrong, the ROM just cant identify what kind of flash it is. Thanks all!

This has to be the most common FAQ for this group. You have non-Intel
flash chips on your new SIMMs and boot ROMs that are too old to know about
the different access method for the flash chips you have.

You need to either get the (free, call TAC) BOOT-2500= ROM upgrade from
Cisco, or exchange the flash SIMMs for ones using Intel chips. Note that
Intel no longer makes those chips, which is why everybody has this prob-
lem.
