| Just wanted to encourage those preparing for the CCNA that it is not that difficult of an exam, but just be well prepared.
I took mine and scored better than I had expected (967). I wrote down, in the test center before testing, on three pieces of paper all that I could from my head--subnetting charts, passwords, cli commands, you name it, etc. This helped me greatly, especially with the subnetting questions. All I had to do was look at my charts and boom, I had the answer. It took me about twenty minutes to write down all I could think of in my head at the testing center.
What is really bad is the testing center where I tested had tiny little monitors. This bugged me, 'cause I was concerned I would run out of time, being my sim was about the third question. The monitors looked like they were 13" monitors.
I had to literally write down all the simulator information before I could even enter commands, this delayed me immensely, and one of my sims was a pretty tough one. I don't know how I got that one right. The password sim was easy. I was most disapointed in that part of having to write down everything pertaining to the sim.
I used all shortcuts in the sim. I did not save any info (copy run start, etc.).
In preparation for the CCNA, I used one class (hands on routers and switches), nuggets (excellent resource), three test engines (boson, fravo, and some demo engines), many books, two simulators, Cisco web site, etc.
A word of advice here, always learn all the concepts before you use the test engines. Then use them a few days before the test comparing them to the actual concepts. I scored over 75% the first time I even used the test engines. If I don't do this, I go back over the concepts again. I think this is important for anyone that really wants to know.
I did like the boson test engine sim, but out of the several hundred questions on the boson test engine, they were not even close to the exam...maybe a very few.
Peace to all the CCNAs! |
