| Hey guys I was just wondering how close the Transcender 3.0 for the CCNA is to actual test. I have been using some router sims and some other material to study but I want to make sure that I am prepared for the test so I only have to take it once. Any information you can give will be appreciated.
Thanks. | |

| I never used them but heard several people state they were harder than the actual exam questions. | |

| well, i passed mine while it was still 507 and transcenders were more difficult than the actual exam questions, so i wouldnt be surprised if they still were harder... when u get over 900 repeatedly on the transcenders, then go pas your cert cuz you're ready! | |

| I have the transcender exams and I would say they are good but not as close to the same kind of Cisco logic as they are for MCSE exams. I have unfortunately taken the CCNA twice and failed by a few points. I have now purchased the Sybex book and Virtual lab Gold and I have to say the practice exams from that book are much more in line with the real thing. They all help but I have read from several sources and now concur that Sybex is the stronger resource for exam prep. Good luck, I'm about to try again... | |

| One more question. Do the shortcut commands like:
1. sh run
2. copy run start
and others like this work on the test in the simulator or do you have to type in the full command? | |

| I would not trust that they are looking for that in an answer. To be safe I would input full command lines then you have no worries. The test seems easy for the most part but then you can only miss aprox 7 questions out of 50 (they are not all valued equally) and they definitely throw some zingers at you so don't give any away if you don't have to. | |

| The shortcut commands did work for my exam. I would however know the actually commands, if you know the shortcuts then you should know the full text of the actual command and vice-versa. Great knowledge to know in the real world. |
