Hi,

I recently passed my Network+ and moved right on into the CCNA study material. I purchased the Sybex CCNA book and have come to a point where i need to find a Simulator. I read several posts regarding the Sybex sim and was wondering if this was worth the money. After spending a little time looking on the internet i found the gold edition for $86. Is this product worth the investment?

Thanks,

Eric

I believe with the Gold edition you get more commands. For the exam the regular e-trainer will be fine, e-bay about 10 bucks. At least that is all I used for a simulator. I couldn't afford the real deal, actual cisco routers, so I picked that up. It was well worth the money. Just my opinion, hope that helps.

i got the sybex sim and from having hands-on experience this is as close to the real thing as your going to get
you can do anything needed for the ccna exam...

this would not be best for the CCNP however.

I have the Cisco Press Library and Sybex e-trainer. By just reading the books, doing the practice labs, and the practice exam that comes with the Cisco Certification Guide. Is this info really enough to pass the exam? How indepth does the exam get, or does it just cover a lot of info and scim over everything?
Like most people, I would like to attend a class on this, but I don't have the funds for that! Open for any suggestions. Thanks!
