Do we have to know the command to encrypt passwords on the CCNA test?

or consult the book you have... or did you just find out from some dump site (yes... I know that info can be found here also... ) that one of the sim has to do with passwords...

edit: just checked the old 507 sybex... so page numbers is off, but page 192 and 196 cover exactly this with examples... I can only imagine newer edition emphasize this more so re-read the section...

go back to the index and look for password...

edit2: heh I could swore this wasn't the original question or I simply could not read... hmmm anyway...

do you have to know it for the ccna test... why not ask do you need to know it at work when you work on cisco products... study not to pass some dinky test, but to perform well at your job.

are you talking about encrypting password so they show up encrypted on the running or start config. the command is:


service password-encryption
