| PLEAASE!
Listen to me on this 1. I tried the test with the 507 material and failed. Tried with the 607 material and passed. That says something...don't it?

| I donīt think you need to buy the 607 certification guide. The subjects covered are the same. The difference between the two exams, from what I have read at Ciscoīs web site, is that the 607 includes router simulation questions (in my opinion, the best way to test skills) and fill-in-the-blank questions.
Earlier today I passed the 607 CCNA exam with a 974 score, and I used the 507 CCNA Certification Guide from Cisco Press, and 2 router simulators borrowed fro a friend of mine. It took me a month to read the book, study all the subjects and take a lot of test simulations on the net.
I canīt say that this is an easy exam, but I think it could be much worse, especially because they like to ask questions about command-line options, rfc numbers (according to some test simulations) and you have to memorize a lot of things you shouldnīt worry about (in my opinion), because the CLI provides an online help.
What really helped me was the fact that I had the theory concepts solidified (I earned a Computer Network specialist degree 2 years ago). What I had to do was get used to the commands and command-line options (Most of the routers I worked with were Nortel ones).
It all depends on your background knowledge, the ammount of time you have to study (i didnīt have much of it). Donīt worry about the guide.
Good Luck!
Marcus. |
