I have never experienced any thing like what has happened to me this month. Let me just say I have been in the IT industry several years and taking exams for the past 3 years. Last May I was preparing for the CCNA. I took my exam on May 6th at the and of the exam I received my score report. I failed, missing a pass by 3 points! I was on vacation so, I spent the next 3 days going over my trouble spots and re-tested on May 10th and passed with a 930. Last week, I received via mail an apology from Prometric stating there was an error and I was mistakenly given a fail when actually I had scored an 860. Prometric has refunded the cost of the exam and is giving me a free 640 exam voucher! When I contacted Prometric the rep I spoke to made it sound like this was not an isolated incident. Just curious if anyone else had this happen to them?

In the past I had problems with the CCNA simulations. The simulations did not show up like they were supposed to. I had blank screens where I could not do any configuration I argued for 6 weeks and finally got a retest voucher. I took the test and passed. The simulations work fine now. I have heard that if the sims don't work then reboot the machine and they should work.

Good Luck,
Chuck

Congrats on passing!

So, should we insist on a fresh reboot prior to starting the test?

Has anyone heard of problems like this on VUE tests?
I'm taking mine next week...I'll be sure to ask the rep. there but I'd like to know if anyone here has heard of anything.

But no I've never had problems on other tests.

Yeah, a lot of computers I see at all three testing sites I've been to in my town, seem to consist of anything that made it past Y2k certification. The CD that comes with the Cisco Press book sure drags sometimes on my slow work computer (P266, 64Meg Ram) and the sims on that CD also crashed out. It's time for training and testing centers to bite the bullet and get some equipment that will do the job!
