| Hey Could Someone Direct Me to Or Clear Me Up on When Do you Use a Cross Over Cable, a Straight Cable ETC~
ThanX | |

| Crossover - connecting similar devices, ie router to router, switch to switch, hub to hub, pc to pc, etc
Stright through - not similar devices, switch to router, switch to pc, pc to hub, etc
Rollover - used to connect to the console of cisco routers/switches

| good answer, good answer...
watch out for Uplink ports on some devices (switches and hubs usually) by other vendors. you use a straight through there since the "Uplink" port is crossed at the hardware level (e.g. Linksys 4-port switch DSL router to my SMC hub ).
