| Hi,
I just started studying CCNA. I'm interested in starting my own lab rather than using a router emulator. Any suggestions on what I should get. If I pass CCNA I can use the lab for CCNP. | |

| At least a couple of routers in the Cisco 2500 class and a Cisco 1900 switch. That seems to be what the test will be oriented towards. | |

| If you find any of the 1600/1700 cheaper than the Cisco 2501 it is far better.
Normally Cisco 2501 with memory of 16F/16D would cost you US$300 at ebay. A 1900 would cost you around US$200, the max.
Also try the free router simulations availble at cisco.com I reccomend best the sim that comes free with the Sybex CCNa book. It has got some 7 lab scenarios....far enough for a CCNA candidate.
Best of luck! |
