Question on CCNA simulation ?'s and Hard-To-Find answers

| I'm taking the CCNA very soon and with all the talk of the new 607 test I'm wondering a few things.
Firstly: with the simulation ?'s and all the router configuration, does it deduct points for entering a command wrong? I mean like a typo or such that will provoke an error. I don't mean like setting something up wrong, I know that'll get points deducted.
Also, are there any Sim ?'s covering switch configuration? I haven't had any practice on switches whatsoever, I've just started messing with them in a Simulator prog.
Second: Are there many questions on 607 regarding hard-to-find info like RSVP packets (just heard of them today taking Beach Front Quizzer test); ATM terms such as NNI, UNI and etc.; or how about why a Router (model 3600? I think, saw this Q on BeachFront again) cannot connect to an FDDI network because it's missing the module to do so?
Any help would be great. I really REALLY hope to get CCNA soon so I can score me some good credentials in the Networking field, hopefully landing me a job.

| is deliberately impossible for a normal CCNA candidate to pass so no one can take them up on their guarantee...
useful for a preview of what lies ahead, but for exam prep Boson is more realistic.

| Beachfront is advanced compared to the CCNA exam?
Any idea if it'll at least help me study for the exam or is it just all advanced topics the CCNA doesn't even cover?
I also have Flash Card but the only database I have is for 640-407 and I'm doubting that will help any either. (I know ppl that aced it and failed CCNA)
PS - And does anyone know about the simulation problems? Will entering a command incomplete by accident, for example, deduct any points?

| I don't think the sims are logging keystrokes. I think a right or wrong depends on whether on not your solution works. Mistakes will just cost you time.

| OK thanks. | |

| Most of their questions are OK, I did find a few errors, and I really like their scenarios where they ask you if the design goals have been achieved. They have about 20% that are nutso, and they make you get 90% before you can pass their sections. You soon realize that you can't reasonably learn all the answers to those questions that you don't know the background on just to pass their quizzer in a sane amount of time, so if you happen to fail the real CCNA you can't request your money back. Their arse is covered. If you see questions on something you never even heard of, just blow them off and focus on the ones that you know you SHOULD know. RSVP! My BFA! (and that aint bachelor of fine arts!) | |

| Yeah marathoner, I've noticed some wierd explanations when it comes to Access Control Lists and wildcards with BFQ.
I like the Sybex self-test the best, I think I'll concentrate on that mostly and take BFQ now and then to brush up on the tricky questions.
Oh and BFQ's scenario questions can be tricky! I've run across one scenario about connecting a Catalyst 2820 (I believe) into an FDDI, and then connecting seperate workgroups into 1900's and the 1900's into the 2820. Well it all seems covered and good so I said all goals were met.
Turns out I was wrong because the 2820 didn't have the module, grrr..
I should really analyze the questions if I hope to pass it seems.
