Hi guys, I would like to know if anyone else has taken this course....I work for a schoolboard, our teachers are being trained in a Cisco lab to teach the cisco academy to the students. It is not like the Cisco Academy offered but it is still a 4 semester course but it is intense over 1 1/2 mths covers all 4 semesters, they have offered to enroll me in it, I was going to write the test anytime now but i think ill take the mnth course just in case, plus its paid for....Has anyone else taken this course? Or any advice? Anyone here jump right into a ccnp test after their ccna?

thx!

Good luck guys!

This is the same course offered through the Academy program, just intense as you mentioned. Instructors in the CNAP must complete Instructor training through their Regional Academy before they are able to teach the curriculum.
I took the course about 3 years ago when the CNAP was just beginning. We are fortunate to have a good regional, but I have heard some horror stories from other regionals. I'd say go for it if it is paid for!!

Good luck!

I just recently took the Cisco acadamy course over the period of a year at the University level, and have passed the CCNA exam with a 936. To get to the point it took me two times to pass the test, the first time I took it I was blown away with the information that the Acadamy didn't cover. So the second time I took it I new what to study for and passed with ease. After I passed the exam I ran across a braindump thing that had all the questions on it, and I was amazed at the amount of information that the Acadamy did not cover that Cisco asks on the test. Self study, in my opinion, is the best.

I took a 5 day ICND course and passed on the first try. The ICND cisco press book that came with the class covered all and more that the test came up with. Best money I eer spent... since it was free and paid for by the CTEC I used to work at

I think it will be ok, i was about to go write the test, ive been off and on studying for over a year...while doing other certs, i think this will just add to it all and make it easier, on top of that, the course is all french, that means french terms like concentrateur and eguillere is a router, haha but i will definately write the exam in english....by the way guys i got the cisco bundle from wanpros.com for ccna right to ccie, i like what i see in the ccda area.... i might go for it also. They have great study notes and 300+ questions for each cert...

i took 2 weeks class at that time the passing score was less then 849 . And when it became 849 i thought that i can not pass the exam so why to waste money then somebody told me that they are going to increase the passing rate more , then the very next day i went for the registration and after that i pass the exam with good score with in 3 days .

Well all I have to say is that the Cisco Acadamy I took sucked. It could of just been my teacher was a total idiot but I just don't know.

lol Don't hold back, or anything

Sorry to hear that you did not have a good time. I still think that the ICND 5 day course is a more potent approach, especially where I live. I was not overly impressed by the local Cisco Academy to say the least!

Freak, I think your exactly right, the shorter week courses are the way to go because by the time I finished up the whole year I had forgotten lots of the first semester stuff I learned. The best way would be a short, intense session.
