Cisco Flash Card tests

| I've been working with the Cisco Press Flash Practice Tests for 607 for some time. At first it was nice. Now, I'm finding more errors every time I take a test. It's getting very annoying.
For example:
"A ____ link is a connection between DTE and DCE devices"
I put 'serial', Cisco says 'access'
"Which TCP/IP network layer protocol is used to identify a packet that has exceeded the delivery time?"
I said 'ICMP', Cisco says a blank line with no answer.
One more:
"_____ supports debugging, testing commands, manipulation of configuration files, and detailed examination of the router."
I said 'Privileged EXEC', Cisco says 'Priviledged EXEC mode' I always thought 'privileged' was spelled without the 'd'.
Oh, and on another fill-in-the-blank question I left the hyphen ( - ) out of Spanning-Tree Protocol, so it marked it wrong.

Or is that "dontcha"
Be careful about that one between the DTE and the DCE, though...

| The implementation of Version 1.0 of the Flash Cards (Test Engine) is VERY BAD. In addition to the examples you gave, there are:
-- Errors with the way you can answer
questions ("select three" and answer with the "bullet" enabling you to select only one)
-- Errors in the right answers: For instance, when asked for a IP-subnet broadcast address, the answer was X.Y.Z.128 (should be .127)
I complained to Cisco Press about this and they sent me version 1.1 last week. This is a little better but there are still some
errors (Temporary working memory of a router told to be EEPROM, for instance).

| Could anyone recommend another test engine to better gauge my preparredness (sp? is it even a word?) for the 607? I feel ready, but I want to be sure.
Thanks,
Bill |
