I passed 11 days after I failed with a 758.
The test was no harder the the first time.
I realized my folly in the first test. I rushed through it and did not thouroughly read the questions. Finished first test in 31 minutes.
Second test, read every question at least 3 times. Finished in 50 minutes. i even accidently clicked next twice and skipped a question that i could not go back to.
To say the least, I am pleased.
Thanks to all for your support and help

| That is a great book and you should know all of the material in it, however I would suggest that you look into some practice test like Boson. And get some practice on a router at r1r2.com, it is totaly free. | |

| Congrats on your pass!!!
Did you find the sims worked fine and that they were quite straight forward? Did you get the same sims as your first exam?
I had a sim that I spent 15 mins on, tried everything and still didn't solve the problem. AAArrrgghhh!
I failed my first attempt on Friday and have set it for next week saturday again. What's really frustrating is that this morning I did a transcender exam but only choosing questions from the categories that I did badly on and got 95%!!! I think I was just unlucky with the questions I got. Anyway enough crying over spilt milk, back to the books!
|
| awesome job! You must be pumped | |

| Congrats man........hope I can say the same next week.
You mentioned the Boson tests.......did you find them to be a good assesment of your knowledge while preparing for the test?

| The sims worked fine, although sluggish. the sim q's that i got this time were very similar to those on the first test. Just be sure that you read the directions THOUROGHLY. And test your work, for example, if it has you set passwords, use the sh run command to see the passwords, or telnet from a another router in the lab, and see if the password works. This will ensure you get them right.

| The Boson tests were great. I used all three ccna boson tests. Some of the questions in tests 2 and 3 were more difficult then what you will find on the actual test, so i would say it prepared me well.

| Thanks Freak. I am extremely pumped. I am now moving on to my CCNP. I am setting a goal of 8 months. I know that is a short amount of time, but i need it for my job.
A good friend of mine at work, got his in 8 months of self study, and he will be helping me out.

| I recently talked to a friend of mine who TEACHES these classes at a community college He has to sit the exam this summer. Yes teachers have to recertify every 3 years. He said he is psychologically prepared to shell out for this both mentally and financially MORE THAN ONCE IF NECESSARY -- this guy TEACHES this stuff!!! Sure makes me feel like a lot of it is just luck, or something else.
It reminds me of the Irish driver's exam. All my friends gave me advice, like... "look in the rear view a lot and make a big deal about it because they fail people for not looking in the rear view enough." So I adjusted the rear view so it was just a scosh off and the examiner commented that I didn't need to look there so much, but I failed anyway. Then I talked to my roomate who worked for the Irish equivalent of the DMV. The real lowdown is you are supposed to "accidentally" leave a ten-quid note in passenger's seat. I had not known that rule before. On my second attempt I did that and it was gone when the examiner left and I passed with flying colors.
Who knows how Cisco selects the exam questions for us GDI's who they have never heard of before because we have never taken one of their classes.
If they hammer you with all the ridiculous questions the first time do the best you can and not take it personally. They just want to get their money out of you. It's how the game is played boys and girls.
