| Hi all,
Looking for some info regarding study materials and time prep.
Can anyone recommend a good resource book.
Second question,what is the avg time spent preparing for this exam??

| I have the Sybex book, the router sim that goes with it and the Exam Cram book. I also use a Networking encyclopedia for reference.
I don't think there is an average time spent on preperation. It depends on the individual. | |

| I am also using the Sybex book but was a little disappointed in the router sim that came with it, there a lot of commands in the labs that the sim doesnt support. I also am using the Boson tests and router sim (very good sim BTW) and exam essentials 6.
Key thing to remember about self test software........use it as a tool and not a crutch. Identify your weaknesses and go back and study them and then take the test on that part again. Nice thing about both these testing engines is you can customize them to a certain extent and set it up similar to the exam itself (timed and no going back) and you can also work on specific areas as well.

| Lammel book from sybex is consider easy to read yet comprehensive enough for the exam. Other choices are the ccna book by odom.
Also make good use of the cisco site and its search

study time differs due to experience level and quite honestly, whether your interest is in knowing the stuff or simply passing the exam...
if your interest is beyond ccna, ie ccnp +, please take your time and make sure you really really know this stuff. This is the foundation, understanding this beyond the simple need to pass the exam will make your life/study of topics beyond ccna so much easier... | |
