Does anyone know when the 640-507 retires? I have been studying for that one and do not want to take the new one, thanks...

I am not sure but I think April 23rd.
From what I have heard it is the same test just with some simulations in it.

It has retired already, Cisco does except new registrations for 507. The new one has router sims on it.

So, does that meant hat we can still take the 640-507 if we choose to? If so, for how long? Is the April 23 date a valid one, thanks for any help or links...

the 640-507 retires April 23rd. and you can only take the 507 if you scheduled for it prior to March 12, 2002. You can not schedule or reshcedule for the 507 after March 12th. If you schedule any time after March 12th it will be for the 640-607 only.

thanks a lot for the help, so is there a consensus that the 607 is the same as the 507 except for some reformatting?

From what I hear it has the same material except there are router sims and more exhibits.

Direct from the cisco site.

Saturine is correct about the scheduling.

Cisco has a demo of the simulations on the 607 page.

Good Luck

My friend is doing his CCNA (607 version) on Friday 22nd.

He has been told by the course instructor that the exam objectives have not changed, so the knowledge you require to pass the new 607 exam has not changed from 507.

Current thoughts are that the pass mark is unlikely to change from the current 849 (Cisco has yet to disclose!) with a maximum of 4 simulations.

Sample simulations are available from the Cisco web site, but if you can do CCNA RouterSim then you can do the Cisco sims.
