| HI everyone,
I did ask for some info I didn't get very few responses before :-(
People in this Forum seem like to read more than help as the others (w2k, A+, N+).
Ok ...maybe someone will help this time.
New to CCNA ...I have no idea where to start I ve got (W2k, A+ and N+). How much this will help me to understand CCNA.
1- What is the best book (for learning the stuff not for passing the exam only)
2- I heard there is something called "Router Emulator" hope I spell it write how and where I can get the "Router Emulator"
3- good links will be highly appreciated
4- what is the best way to learn the stuff specially, if you are not working in the filed now :-(
5- why I see Version 1 and Version 2 what is the different, which one we need
Thanks for any help

| You are very wrong in saying people here don't want to help. The problem is your question has been asked a gazillion times and if you took the time to look and read you would not have had to ask the question.

| Best book for me is ICND from Cisco Press.
Router Simulator is what you are looking for. Sybex makes it. I was not overly impressed with it. Try www.r1r2.com to log time on real routrs through telnet sessions.
I have plenty of links and free study guides at http://www.mcsefreak.com/cisco.htm
Let me know if I can help more. This is a good forum by the way. Don't let your first impression fool you. These guys helped me tremendously when I was going through my CCNA... hope this helps

Apparently you didn't bother to read though old posts to see the multitude of answers to your questions. Instead of complaining about others just reading and not helping, maybe you could consider reading before you start asking.

| Also not to rain on your request for help. But before you hit the submit reply button. Make sure your e-mail notification box is also checked on.
That's how i am notified

| I have a free simulator that I could e-mail you if I knew where to e-mail it to. Also I have been using Sybec e-trainer and Cisco CCNA Training Kit and the Sybex Virtual Lab. All of these are excellent study material for someone with no background or no working knowledge. When I started studying, I didn't even know what a router was, much less how it would be used. Now I can ceate Ethernet connections or Frame Relay connections. I know when to use PPP and CHAP, and I even understand what all these letters mean. There are also a lot of free internet places to learn, LIKE THIS SITE!!! Just realize that you are in for a long study time. There is a lot to learn and remember, just always remember that YOU CAN DO IT! | |

Deja Vu, anyone? It seems this topic has been explored before...
Also, regarding Obeid's opening sentence...

If he "didn't get very few responses", doesn't that mean that received a plethora of responses? The wording is close to a double negative.

| I am a bit surprised at how much ire obeid was able to create in you guys through his post.
Granted, some of the message was a bit out of line, but I don't think it was malicious.
At least, the guy is trying to learn and is willing to ask questions and work on the answers. How about we cut him some slack? |
