| Get the study guide by Todd Lammele CCNA and alternatively the Cisco press CCNA study guide and start from chapters 1 all through. Also do the practicals at the end until you're done. Best of luck in your endeavours. | |

| hello, I'm fairly new to the world of cisco.. I remember reading on their site about differnt career paths.. and this forum.. "WAN Switching" would seem to suggest there are different CCNA exams.. would someone please clarify this? | |

| The WAN Switching certification was geared towards switches used by large telephone companies (Stratacom, Axis). The WAN switching career certifications were recently retired. (The exam may still be offered - not sure.)
You might also hear about the CCNA 1.0 640-507 exam - that's also retired.
The vast majority of people go for the standard CCNA 2.0 640-507 exam.
