| Does anyone have some network diagrams configs that I can simulate on my home lab? Some practise labs, if you like. I know books exist for CCIE lab to help you prepare. What about some more basic examples? Just so I've got something to work towards on my lab. | |

| No practice labs are necessary for the CCNA level as demonstrated by the fact most only play with one router to get used to the basic router commands. Having said that it is admirable that you want to try and learn more.
Not knowing what equipment you have makes answering this more difficult, but I would suggest hooking two routers together with a dce/dte cable between serial interfaces. Then configure an ethernet at each end and see if you can ping between them.
Don't worry if you run into obstacles. Don't get frustrated. Keep trying because that's how you learn. As a last resort you can post your problem and somebody will be able to help ya

| Thanks for the message. Guess what..I've got connectivity as you've said. I've got 2900XL Switch, 2 x 2500's and a netgear hub. Netgear hub is on one ethernet and switch on other ethernet. I was thinking about configuring a couple of VLANs on the Switch, but seeing as this switch is not covered on the CCNA should I wait? This might be a distraction from the exam topics!

| Hi if you get Todd's book for CCNA and have a few 2500's you can work throught the whole book using your own routers rather than the Sim. This is what I am doing I find the examples/labs in the book are very good.

| There certainly is no harm in lab experience now and it is really nice to have somebody else's labs to practice with but what I do is read a section til I think I uderstand it and then make my own drawing and try to make it work. If I fail with my design I go back to the book and try one of their examples.
CCIE lab examples can be pretty expensive so for now I'm doing my own little things and will graduate to others as the date gets closer.
