| YES why not i asking about BGP what do you think BGP very easy like Cisco Papaers try to practice then you discovered what i mean i think you can pass BGP Section at CCNP but in fact not easy to practice it like your reading or noly what Cisco type step by step not enough try to configure it then you talk its easy or hard!!! | |

| Hey ya dude,
BGp= Border gateway protocol
Have you hear of AS(Autonomous System)-- well, AS is a system controlled , administered under the same organisation, e.g You School Intranet for instance.
So to communicate within your own school network, You will/ can use RIP, IGRP, EIGRP etc.
But if you wanna communicate with another AS that is external to your school network e.g. Another intranet from another organisation, You will have to use BGP.
BGP--like IGRP is a Routing protocol, follows DV algorithm(Distance Vector).
I am not sure if we are to know how to configure BGP for the CCNA exam-- ANY one please fill me in on this one..thanks.
And do let me know if im not on right track..

| As far as I know you don;t need to know much for CCNA, however, I believe most material cover an introduction, or at least a definition, of it.
Wouldn't hurt knowing about it I recon.

| bgp is Border Gateway Protocol which is used for exterior routing protocols. Ýt is used for policy based routing between autonomous systems.
For example each autonomous system(like ISP's) can use their own routing protocols in their interior networks (rip or igrp or static routing can be used) but for exterior rouing an EGP like BGP is needed. | |

| He posted this in the CCNP forum also. From the other post that I put up in there, you can read it but if you a$$ is on the line to understand BGP or get a definition, goto the Cisco web page and next time pay attention when you are studying for BSCI.
Man, I thought that test was pretty hard, I could configure BGP in seconds in my sleep by the time I took the exam. |
