| I want to study CCNA next year, but what I want to know is this : What kind of oppertunity's do I have when finished it? I want to do network security. In what diffrent paths can I go, when I'm finished?
What kind of jobs can I expect to do?
thanx

| It depends on your experience. If you want to focus on security there are positions that do just that. At my job, we have security people and I'm a network person. I don't think they have CCNA's over there.
They focus on more security knowledge and certifications - such as CISSP.
CCNA has gotten to be pretty much an entry level networking certification.
If you want to focus on security, I think you would do well to know your way around different OS's, network gear, and network protocols.
I don't think you can expect to get some high level network gig with just CCNA unless you have some experience to back it up. You might get into a small shop that would allow you to get your hands into all things - and would give you experience on desktops, servers, network, apps, db's, etc. This is all must have knowledge for security - everything is applicable for security!
