| I have the following questions that need answering
Q1. u are configuring frame relay router with sub int on s0. Which sub int number can u use?
A1. I think 1 and 2 but i've also seen 0.2 and 0.3
Q2. Three basic switch funtions
A2. I'm sure it's address learning, loop avoidance and packet forward/filter but i've seen loop avoid, packet forward and broadcast filtering
Q3. Which is not a characteristic of a network segment on a switch
A3.
segment has it's own collision domain (T)
segment can translate one media to another (?)
all devices in the segment are part of the same broadcast domain (T)
One device per segment can currently send frames to the switch (?)
Q4. Network design question about switch or router. Most economical recommendation
A4. I think switch but have seen router.
Q5. Modified version of store and forward and cut through switching methods
A5. I think modifed version holds the packet in memory until 50% of the packet reaches the switch. BUT i've seen holds the packet in mem until the data portion of the packet reaches the switch

| The first question is real con and i think cisco is playing dirty on this question
because every professional knows that the subinterface should be s0.1 or s0.2 and so on, but what cisco did they put the . in the question eg s0. so the answer became 1 and 2 instead of s0.1 and s0.2
the other questions you mentioned are also similar to the ones i have had, but i cannot justify that switches do broadcast filtering unless you have vlans.

| Fragment free switching is when the switch looks at the first 64 bytes of the frame to check for errors. If there is a collision it would normally show in the first 64 bytes.
Also, each segment can have only one device send a frame at a time because each segment is on its own collision domain. | |

| A2: it is possible to broadcast filter with a VLAN, but your example didn't say anything about one.
A3: A similar question was on my exam today. I think the only answer is that a network segment on a switch cannot translate from one media to another.
A4: I would think Cisco would be trying to sell switches. It depends on the question though.
A5: There is nothing to do with 50% regarding any switching methods. Fragment Free forwards after reading into the data portion.
