Hello guys,

Hoping everything is ok. Can someone give us a real example of what should
be accomplished when a frame realy configuration is installed on a cisco
Router?

I have read Lammle and cisco documentation and I am very confused. Real
experiences will be highly appreciated. Such as, information that must be
provided by the ISP for the fram relay encapsulation and details that must
be covered Additionaly, I have read that IP4s aren4t neccesary for that kind
of config. Is that true? What about IP routing, which is the best? Must be
configured?. Static? RIP? OPSF? IGRP? Maybe it depends of the size of the
network... but it will be enough with a static route?

Thanks in advance...

Basic frame-relay setup is very simple and default values can be used for everything.
B8ZS, ESF and LMI type need not be configured. The first two are default and LMI type is auto detected in IOS 11.2 and above (think that was the right version). The above was assuming you have a WICT1-DSU which is a serial interface with built in CSU/DSU. If you have an external CSU/DSU the line coding and channel mappings are done on it.

When you get into more complex, large hub and spoke networks the design and choice of routing protocol becomes more difficult, Bruce Caslow does a good job of explaining it in his CCIE book.

I know this is a simplified answer, but hope it helps a little!
